Swipeglass

Casual, pick-up-and-play sports games that are fun for all ages.

Somewhere along the way, our phones turned into doomscrolling machines. The apps we open all day are designed to hold our attention, not to give us something good back. I don't think social media is bringing out the best in any of us, and I wanted to make something that does the opposite.

I grew up on games like Tecmo Super Bowl, ISS Deluxe 64, FIFA, and Madden. To this day, I still enjoy playing Retro Bowl or Crossy Road on my phone. But too many great games ask too much: a console to sit down at, a one-gigabyte download, or a game that only works sideways.

That sideways part bothers me the most. Landscape mode just isn't how any of us naturally hold a phone. So Swipeglass games work the other way around. They're portrait first, playable with one hand and one thumb, as easy as scrolling Instagram, except this time it's a break that actually brings out the best in you.

Our games are made for every age, whether you're a kid on the couch or an adult killing a few minutes on a lunch break, in line at the DMV, or waiting in the school pick-up line. They're built to spark a little imagination and passion instead of numbing it. Pick one up, play for a few minutes, and put it down feeling a little lighter.

Our first game is Pixel Rugby. You don't need to know a thing about rugby to play, but it's built to make real fans feel at home. Under the hood it's surprisingly deep, with a career mode and world rankings you can keep building for months, like a save file on a real console.

Many more are on the way, all sharing the same simple idea: open this instead of the feed.

Thanks for being here early.
